Teaching

I teach children, teens and adults.

I cannot count how many times people have said to me ‘I do not have a creative bone in my body’. I laugh and shake my head, because I truly believe everyone is creative and have simply been conditioned to believe they’re not.

Artists do not live in a vacuum. My lessons are very much art-history based as a starting point, at least, for purposes of inspiration, contextualisation, empathy and understanding of materials and formal elements.

Then, the magic happens. I am very technical and specific with my guidance, in order to help develop and unearth drawing and painting skills. The focus is on fun and self-expression, but also on creating beautiful results the student can be proud of.
